You're A Good Man Charlie Brown

THE VILLAGE CHURCH COMMUNITY THEATER Presents

YOU'RE A GOOD MAN, CHARLIE BROWN

Performances:
March 4-6, 2016

You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown is a musical comedy based on the characters created by cartoonist Charles M. Schulz in his comic strip Peanuts. In this play, we see Charlie Brown, Linus, Lucy, Schroeder, Snoopy and others as they experience a day in the life of Charlie Brown. Memorable songs and scenes make for a theater experience suitable for all ages. Written by Clark Gesner and originally produced Off-Broadway and then on Broadway in the mid-1960s, the stories of friendship, growing up, and the love of a dog remain timeless.

Since the characters resonate with the child in all of us, we will have two productions, one played by an adult cast and the other played by a youth cast. Please join us for the one of your choice or attend both, to enjoy the dynamic produced with the differences in adult voices vs. youth voices of the now classic characters.

Youth Cast performs Friday, March 4 at 7:30 PM and Saturday, March 5 at 3:00 PM.
Adult Cast performs Saturday, March 5 at 7:30 PM and Sunday, March 6 at 2:00 PM

Amahl and the Night Visitors is a retelling of the story of the Magi from the point of view of a poor young crippled boy named Amahl and mother. One night he sees a bright star in the sky. That night the three kings come across their meager hut and seek shelter for they have traveled far following the star Amahl saw. They are bringing gifts to “the Child” who has just been born. The encounter Amahl and his mother have with the Kings is a miraculous life-changing experience as  they learn who the Christ child is. Amahl and the Night Visitors is a beautiful one act opera that has been enjoyed by families for many generations.
